Should have stopped.
Our development chief, who at the time was in charge of making the rear rack for CBR250R and CBR125R, often said.
And the reason is
1: The clearance [gap] of the installation place is narrow
2: Single bike with lots of vibration
Because of these two issues, the development of the rear carrier for the CBR250R, CBR125R, which was originally scheduled to be completed in two months, was difficult.
World Walk’s rear racks are made at a factory in Sumida-ku, Tokyo.
The skills of the craftsmen who supported Japan during its period of rapid economic growth have solved a variety of problems up to now.
Therefore, World Walk’s chief developer and a craftsman of a town factory in Sumida-ku worked together to develop the new product.
The problem of the narrow gap at the mounting location was solved by making an accurate mold [jig].
World Walk will remove the stock grips and install the brackets where the grips were installed, but the gap between the cowl and the brackets is only about 5mm.
The clearance problem has been solved by making an accurate mold and eliminating individual differences as much as possible.
The problem of high vibration due to the single bike has been solved by increasing the strength and reinforcement of the rack welds.
Two reinforcements are placed between the two bracketss on each side to prevent them from shaking due to vibration or deflection, and to prevent them from interfering with the vehicle body.
Finally, the rear rack of the CBR250R and CBR125R was completed and the strength testing phase was underway.
In addition to the usual strength tests, the rear carrier of CBR250R and CBR125R has been thoroughly tested in the real world.
The strength of the rear rack itself was not a problem at all, but in order to check the strength of the frame of the CBR250R and CBR125R, World Walk actually attached the rear rack to the body of the bike, attached the rear box and loaded a plastic bottle filled with water inside the rear box.
By repeating the riding test, the load on the frame was confirmed and decided the appropriate mounting method.
The actual mileage is 4,500km in 3 months of testing.
The load capacity is 3.5kg, but it is installed in the lowest position, so if you want to load heavy objects, please load them so that the seat and rack are covered.
World Walk’s Four Colors Lens Rear Box 30L and 43L can be installed by bolt-on.
It also goes perfectly with the rear box!
People of my generation may think that a rear box is not suitable for a full cowl bike, but the time has changed and it is common to install a rear box and a rack on a replica.
In addition, compared with the bikes of naked, the replica bikes have more volume in the front, so even if you put the rear box, the volume of the front and rear will be well balanced, and the overall design will be more coherent.
This is a great rear carrier for those who have been reluctant to install a carrier or rear box on their replica bikes.
