This is a seat side mounting bracket for installing a universal tank such as a Sportster tank, Peanut tank, or Mustang tank on a 4-speed frame.
The bolted bracket can be installed using the tank mounting tabs on the 4-speed frame, so there is no need to modify the frame, and the stock split tank can be returned at any time.
