Honda’s flagship motorcycle CB1300SF.
When you stop at a parking lot on a tour, you will always see one or two of these popular bikes. And CB750 is a popular motorcycle that has been used as a driving school vehicle until a while ago, and has been produced from its debut in 1992 to 2008 with a few changes but no major changes in design.
As World Walk was thinking about the design of a rear carrier for CB1300SF, CB750 happened to arrive at one of our partner bike shops, and when they saw the carrier installed, it was very close to the mounting position of CB1300SF. So they asked themselves, “Can they develop a rear carrier that can be mounted on both vehicles? The development of the Multi-Rear Rack began when asking the development team.

As the development was finished, it is found that the position of the rear rack of BANDIT1250F was very similar to the one developed for CB750 and CB1300SF.
I had to change the collar and bolts, but I was able to install it.
Furthermore, GSX1400 that came in for the fuel pump repair at our affiliated bike shop had the same hole position as BANDIT1250, so World Walk tried to match it with BANDIT1250 and found that it could be installed on BANDIT1250 just by changing the collar.

The fact that it can be installed to the SUZUKI BANDIT 1250F and the GSX1400 was just a coincidence, but it was a miracle that the rear rack for the four big naked models are completed.

*It has been found that it can be installed on BANDIT 650 and BANDIT 1200.

CB1300 was remodeled in 2003, and the design was made to feel sharpness in each part of the body with the keyword of “sharpness”, and the tail part also became sharp design.
In contrast, the design of CB750 is a clean, curved, surface-based design.
What is reflected in both models is the use of curved surfaces to create a clean design while maintaining the power of a large motorcycle.

Therefore, the design concept of Multi Rack Type2 is “sharpness” which is common with CB1300. 9mm straight pipe is used for each part and 3mm steel plate is used for the mounting part.
By using these materials, World Walk was able to create a clean design.
The pipe parts are basically composed of straight lines, but some streamlined designs are adopted for the mounting plates.

The tail area of Bandit 1250 and GSX1400 is also designed sharply and it does not affect the image of the vehicle.

Both CB750 and CB1300SF are equipped with grab bar and passenger’s belt is not attached to the seat, so the space between the grab bar and the top panel is wide enough for passenger to grab the pillion bar.
As a result, both GSX1400 and BANDIT1250 are equipped with grab bars, but you can grab the grab bars on any model.
However, if you are wearing a thick glove, you may not be able to fit your hand.

World Walk focused on the size of the rear rack to achieve the design concept of “sharpness”.
If the rear carrier is too big, it will spoil the image of the vehicle.
In deciding the size of the rear rack, World Walk focused on the convenience under two conditions.

The size of the rear box (top case) must be large enough to allow easy installation of the base.
When you go camping or touring, you can use the rear box and rear seat to carry a lot of luggage.

These two points.

When you install the base of the rear box, the base for the rear box is basically attached to the rear rack, although it is slightly different for each manufacturer.
When mounting the base, the corrugated plate is used. However, depending on the design of the rack itself, it may be difficult to fix the corrugated plate in two places.
In such a case, it is better to fix it firmly in two places though it is no problem to fix it in one place.

The top plate of the Multi-Rear Rack is designed to allow easy installation of the rear box base by fixing the corrugated plate at two points, and most manufacturers’ rear boxes can be installed.

Since the pillion grips are higher than the seat on all vehicles fitted with the Multi-Rear Rack Type 2, the rear rack is positioned a little higher than the grips, allowing the seat, grips and rear rack to carry a larger load.
In addition, the load of each part is distributed, so a heavier luggage can be loaded.
