[Dry Carbon]
Dry carbon is a product made of a special material called carbon prepreg, in which carbon cloth is impregnated with epoxy resin and baked for a long period of time in an autoclave, a pressure oven that maintains high temperature, high pressure, and vacuum conditions.
As with wet carbon, the entire process is done by hand, but it requires special materials and space, such as molds that can withstand high temperatures and high pressure, various films needed to wrap the molds and create a vacuum, and a large freezer to store the prepreg. This makes it an expensive product.
The process is also complicated, so it will take longer to deliver the product.
As for molding, since the carbon prepreg itself must be used within a certain amount of time and deteriorates especially due to changes in temperature, we conduct a series of molding operations in a work space that is not affected by air temperature, room temperature, humidity, and so on.
It is baked in the autoclave with heat and pressure while maintaining a vacuum state, resulting in a high-density material that has high strength and light weight.
The carbon prepregs are pattern-cut so that all the materials are the same, and if they are stacked in the same order, they can be easily formed the same way each time. Although it is a manual process, variations in weight can be minimized, and there are almost no gaps in the carbon fibers.
As for the final finish, all the products are clear coated (except for the racing models).
